Following the selection of the new premises, Progressive developed the workplace floor layout and coordinated the transformation of the existing space into a modern and functional media workplace. The refurbishment included new commercial carpet, electrical infrastructure, data services, workstation planning, and the integration of the furniture and technology requirements necessary to support the organisation’s day-to-day operations.

A key requirement of the brief was to create an open and light-filled working environment that would encourage collaboration while providing journalists and administration staff with an efficient and comfortable workplace. Progressive supplied and installed 37 Ambience workstations, creating a flexible open-plan environment while maintaining the practical requirements of a busy media organisation.

The workplace design also incorporated collaborative areas to support communication and interaction between teams. The open-plan configuration provides staff with greater flexibility while making efficient use of the available floor area and creating a contemporary environment suited to the fast-moving nature of media operations.

A specialist requirement of the project was the creation of a dedicated area for photographing vehicles being road tested by Wheels Media. This provided the organisation with a practical workplace facility that could support its automotive journalism activities while being integrated into the overall workplace environment.

Progressive also developed a flexible storage solution for Wheels Media’s media equipment and operational resources. The solution incorporated 600mm-deep storage racking together with a custom-printed retractable curtain, allowing the storage area to be concealed when required while providing quick and easy access to equipment. This provided a practical and cost-effective alternative to more expensive enclosed storage construction.

The completed Wheels Media workplace combines open-plan workstation accommodation, collaborative areas, specialist automotive media facilities, integrated services, and flexible storage within a 560m² environment. Progressive Corporate’s involvement from property assessment and workplace planning through to design, infrastructure coordination, furniture supply and installation provided Wheels Media with an integrated workplace solution tailored to its operational requirements.
