The Challenge: Modernising a High-Capacity Corporate Hub

Project: KIA Australia
Size: 2,500m2

When KIA Australia sought to revitalize its 2,500m² Sydney Head Office, the primary goal was to transition from a rigid, dated environment to a contemporary, agile workspace. The existing fitout featured fixed-height desks and an inefficient layout that hindered ergonomic wellness and collaborative flow.

With 142 staff members to accommodate, the project required a sophisticated logistical approach:

  • Decommissioning: Complete strip-out of legacy office furniture.
  • Operational Continuity: KIA could not cease operations during the transition.
  • Staff Retention: Creating a premium “destination office” to encourage a return to in-person collaboration.

The Progressive Solution: Strategic Staging & Ergonomic Excellence

To eliminate downtime, we implemented a staged installation strategy over a two-week window. By splitting the floorplate into two phases, we ensured half the workforce remained operational at all times.

To further minimise disruption, our team managed the noisy strip-out work over weekends, reserving the weekdays for the precise installation and “soft-wiring” of the new product suites.

    Key Project Deliverables

We curated a selection of high-performance commercial furniture designed for longevity and aesthetics:

    • Ambiance Electric Height-Adjustable Desks: Providing sit-to-stand flexibility to meet modern ergonomic standards.
    • Executive Corner Workstations: Tailored solutions for private office suites.
    • Integrated Soft-Wiring: Seamless power and data distribution for a cable-free, clean aesthetic.
    • Storage & Organisation: Slimline pedestals and custom storage units to optimize the 2,500 $m^2$ footprint.
    • Collaborative Zones: High-end meeting tables and premium ergonomic task chairs.

    The Result

The result is a flagship Sydney headquarters that mirrors KIA’s brand innovation. By moving from fixed-height stations to a dynamic, electric height-adjustable environment, KIA Australia now provides its 142 employees with a workspace that prioritizes health, movement, and contemporary design.
